Rite of Spring @ Peckham
This July members of the quartet will be joining forces with over one hundred of countries finest young musicians
to present the must-see contemporary music event of the summer in a gigantic multi-storey
car park in South East London.
This
free event
will see Stravinsky’s modernist landmark
performed alongside a new work by Oxford-based young composer Kate Whitley,
with DJ sets by
NONCLASSICAL’s
Gabriel Prokofiev and others completing the night.
Frank’s Cafe@Peckham multi-storey car park has been hosting ambitious creative projects since 2007.
The venue has incredible views over London and welcomes thousands of visitors every summer to its bar and art/performance space.
The afternoon will feature a workshop aimed at local schoolchildren led by former BBC Young Musician Of The Year Mark Simpson, which is also free to attend.
Hexton Manor
The group is now the 'quartet in residence' for the Hexton Manor Country Estate.
Charity Concert
In June, members of the quartet performed at a charity concert in Harlington, Bedfordshire in aid of a local care hospice.
Keech Hospice Care runs two hospice services - one for adults living in Luton and South Bedfordshire
and one for children from across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.

"Le Manoir"
The group performed at a private reception held at the "Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons".
This hotel run by celebrated chef Raymond Blanc is renowned as one of Britain's finest gastronomic experiences and featured in the BBC series "The Restaurant" and currently in "Kitchen Secrets".
Children In Need
In November a "A Bit Of String" performed alongside other community groups in 'Peculiar Reflections' , a concert in aid of BBC
Children In Need at the 'Wigmore Church and Community Centre', Luton.
Oxford Chamber Music Festival
In October members of the quartet will perform in the Oxford Chamber Music Festival as part of an educational progam to
introduce chamber music to local schools.
Spanish Visit
Members of the quartet performed at the Pablo Casals International Music Festival in El Vendrell, Spain as part of Bedfordshire Youth Orchestra.
The program included Elgars Cello Concerto and the popular William Tell Overture by Gioachino Rossini.
Festival Success !
The quartet took part in the Bedfordshire Festival of Music, Speech and Drama, an annual event held each year in Bedford.
The festival was founded in 1923 and is one of the largest and most successful in the county giving participants the chance to
perform in the grand environments of the Corn Exchange, Harpur Suite and linked Halls.
The quartet competed in the 'Chamber Music Ensemble Class', a well represented group covering strings, woodwind and
brass and were very pleased to be awarded first prize and the Henry Burridge Cup (right) for their performance of the
StreichQuartet No.2 by Alexander Borodin.
